October 15, 2008 - Nelson Peralta was chosen by the state agency Chicano Latino Affairs Council for recognition at its 30th Anniversary dinner Minnesotanos: A Cornerstone of Minnesota's Future. The event featured a video production highlighting Nelson and the Peralta & Peralta law firm among 25 individuals and agencies that have made significant contributions to the Latino community in Minnesota.

October 15, 2008 - The Peralta & Peralta law firm filed applications to the specially designated state fund on behalf of seven survivors of the I-35W bridge collapse that occurred on August 11, 2007. Peralta & Peralta participated in a consortium of law firms that represented these victims for free, without charging any fees or expenses. Four of the victims represented pro bono by P&P were Latino children.

October 6, 2008 - Nelson Peralta was named by the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Minnesota (HCCM) as one of its "25 on the Rise." Through its 25 on the Rise program, HCCM recognizes members of the Hispanic community under the age of 40 who are leading and succeeding. He will be recognized at an award reception on November 20.

August 28, 2008 – Lisa Lodin Peralta presented a continuing legal education seminar to attorneys of the Hennepin County Public Defender’s Office on the topic of “Preserving & Making an Adequate Record for Appeal.”

August 21, 2008 - Lisa Lodin Peralta and Nelson Peralta were honored to attend a breakfast for El Fondo de Nuestra Comunidad, and to support this organization financially. The mission of El Fondo, part of the Spectrum Trust of the St. Paul Foundation, is to create a model of philanthropy within Minnesota's Latino community that fosters the giving of talent, time and money to efforts that build on the assets and strengths of the Latino community.

June, 2008 - Nelson Lodin Peralta joined the board of directors of Centro Legal.

April 27, 2008 - Peralta & Peralta sponsored a policy reception put on by Joyce Preschool to advance the issue of early childhood education for the Latino children in our community. Lisa Lodin Peralta serves on the board of directors of Joyce Preschool, a bilingual preschool, whose mission is to provide children from diverse ethnic, linguistic, and economic backgrounds with developmentally and culturally appropriate preparation for success in school and lifelong learning.
